Thank you for choosing SpanishVIP! In this article, we will detail our process of assigning private tutoring students with their dedicated teacher, whether you’re a new student or being reassigned.
About Us
Our core philosophy at SpanishVIP is to prioritize results and a white-glove experience for all students. The quality of education and custom-tailored attention you receive is unparalleled. Nowhere else will you receive the bespoke, personalized program we offer.
Despite our affordable pricing model (enabled by our ability to hire remotely in Latin America), our service is a premium offering that entails an intensive process for each student.
As such, the assignment process for new and transferring students can come with a 3-5 week waiting period before being assigned your new dedicated teacher.
The SpanishVIP Process
The first important consideration in choosing our service is our philosophy on recruitment.
How We Hire
Our team has a very important set of parameters for any teacher who joins our team. We will not settle for standardized education. Each teacher must have talent as an instructor, deep empathy, and the ability to creatively analyze and adapt to their students.
Some of our students have previously spent years on self-led learning material, in high school or university courses, even immersion living abroad, and have not learned the language. Most successfully become extremely proficient in a matter of months, working with our team.
Simply put, we only offer the best. And to provide the best service, means you need to hire the best people. That takes time.
Understanding You: Our Free Class At Work
Every aspect of your experience is custom-tailored to your unique needs as a student. We consider a myriad of factors when assigning you to your dedicated teacher.
This is why we offer a free class to all new students. Besides getting a feel for our team and how you may be treated in a typical class with your teacher, it also gives us critical information to understand your individual needs best.
Think of your free class as an interview. Teaching you allows our Student Success Advisors to understand things like:
- Your listening skills
- Reading/writing comprehension
- The kinds of lessons you respond to
- Activities that aid you most
- Your specific goals in learning the language
- Personality type
All of the above (and more) is carefully documented and considered by our team in the assignment process.
Our strict policy on recruitment combined with the initial analysis means that we can take 2-5 weeks to analyze and find the perfect teacher for you. This duration is also influenced by your availability.
Finding the perfect teacher who fits your needs AND coincides with your schedule is no easy task! We are happy to do it, we just ask for a little understanding of why delays happen.
Note: Fluent package students receive priority assignment. If you’re looking for the fastest response and assignment, more custom curriculum material, and other hands-on support, make sure to sign up for or upgrade to a Fluent package!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch my teacher?
If you decide that you would like to switch things up after working with your dedicated teacher for a while, we would be happy to assign you a new dedicated teacher. Just talk with support if this is something you would like to take advantage of.
Can I have more than one dedicated teacher at a time?
We can likely accommodate this request if you would like to have up to two teachers at a time. It’s understandable if you would like to keep things fresh by using more than one teacher.
Some of our students absolutely never want to lose their single dedicated teacher as this makes them feel comfortable. On the other hand, if you get bored easily and would like two teachers, that’s just fine too. We will do our best to accommodate this request, pending the availability of a second teacher.
